Empowering Youth Through Economic Literacy™

Empowering Youth Through Economic Literacy™ (EYTEL™) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of education, predominately for disadvantaged youth, by providing scholarships and/or grants to aid in the pursuit of scholastic or vocational studies and/or to recognize achievement in economic literacy.

EYTEL™ will work with a continuum of educational institutions, including, but not limited to, public school systems/districts, charter schools, independent/private schools, and community colleges, to:
  • Provide academic/vocational scholarship dollars available to qualified students achieving certain levels of economic literacy;
  • EYTEL™ will provide schools awards and grants for meeting participation goals and further enhance literacy programs in school systems
  • Work to establish and maintain long-term quality control of dissemination of economic literacy materials;
  • Create and make available guide for teachers emphasizing cross-discipline economic literacy curriculum integration;
  • Create continuing education opportunities for teachers' actively teaching economic literacy skills to students ages eight (8) through twenty-one (21);
  • Provide educational institutions with base level economic literacy library reference collection.

Further, in the interest of project sustainability, EYTEL™ will also:
  • Provide small economic literacy project-based grant opportunities for educational partners;
  • Create networked community partnerships to secure additional economic literacy project sustaining funds;
  • Raise additional scholarship funds by providing contributing partners with unique and inspired student-centered philanthropic opportunities.

Overall, EYTEL™ will contribute to create students as life-long learners by providing youth, many from disadvantaged backgrounds, with academic and vocational scholarship opportunities tied to the acquisition of functional economic literacy skills.
